Are you a child between the ages of 4-17? Do you loveeee pizza?! Do you love to get creative in the kitchen? Then this competition is for YOU! It's time to get your creative juices flowing and think outside the pizza box!
Be a part of the 1st Annual Taste of Mequon Kids Pizza Contest - Hosted by More Happy Kitchens! This competition runs August and September 2024, in partnership with the Taste of Mequon, Downtown Pizza, and the Frank L. Weyenberg Library of Mequon-Thiensville. The Contest will culminate at Taste of Mequon on September 7, 2024
Children from Mequon AND across the Ozaukee County region are encouraged to apply!

Contest Details and Entry Information
Please read through all steps completely. All submissions must be received by August 22 in order to be considered for the contest.
Submit your wildest pizza idea. From August 1-22, we want you to dream up your most creative pizza...and tell us about it! Whether it's a tropical twist, a dessert delight, or a veggie extravaganza, we want to see your idea! All pizza submissions must use a standard pizza dough, but you can choose the sauce (classic red sauce or something different) and up to FOUR toppings for your special pizza. Think of unique toppings that will make your pizza the talk of the town. Get as cheesy as you want for your pizza name—extra points for puns!
Fill out the online entry form. This is how you officially enter the contest! The first 50 entrants to the contest have their entry fee ($10) waived, thanks to our generous sponsors at Taste of Mequon. Submissions are accepted through August 22, 2024.
All submissions will be reviewed by the More Happy Kitchens team. The most innovative and intriguing pizzas will be tested by a panel of pizza lovers and experts - and the TOP TWO pizzas will be selected to go head-to-head at Taste of Mequon!
The top two finalists will have their pizza recipes baked and sold at Taste of Mequon at the Downtown Pizza booth. Everyone who purchases The Official Contest Slices will get a chance to cast their vote for their favorite pizza! Contest slices will be for sale from 12-6pm. The Pizza Champion will be announced at 6:00pm on Saturday, September 7 at Taste of Mequon.
One winner will be crowned the Pizza Champion and will have the opportunity to have their pizza featured at Downtown Pizza in Thiensville after Taste of Mequon.
Why a pizza contest? One of our main goals at More Happy Kitchens is for kids to have a positive experience in the kitchen. We believe in the power of creativity that cooking and baking can bring to individuals and families and we’re committed to finding many ways to share that with our community.
Contest Timeline
August 1, 2024 - Open call for pizza submissions.
August 22, 2024 - Pizza submissions deadline! Last day to submit your crazy pizza idea!
August 26, 2024 - We’ll email you if you are selected to move onto the voting round at Taste of Mequon.
September 7, 2024, 12-6pm - Taste of Mequon! Come find us at the Downtown Pizza booth to purchase the contest slices and vote for your favorite pizza!
September 7, 2024, 6:00pm - Winner announced at Taste of Mequon!
September (dates TBD) - Winning Pizza featured at Downtown Pizza.
